Post: Practice Nurse

Hours: 24 hours per week

Contract Type: Permanent

Salary: Depending on experience 

 

We are an inner city practice based in Merton, caring for over 8,000 patients. We sit closely between Streatham Common, Norbury and Mitcham train stations, which makes the practice easily accessible. We look after patients in two nearby care homes and have close links to a nearby hospice. We have a stable team of GPs, Nursing and administrative staff including two part time Lead GPs and a part time GP Partner. We have a varied demographic of patients across all ages and backgrounds. The team works hard to ensure we provide excellent chronic disease and end of life care by engaging with local and community services.  We are committed to patient centred care and would welcome applicants who share our passion and team spirit.

We are currently looking to recruit a part time qualified practice nurse to join the team at The Rowans Practice.

The successful applicant must:

  • help to deliver care in all areas of General Practice Nursing to include; travel and child vaccinations, family planning and cytology
  • be competent in chronic disease management to include; diabetes, asthma, hypertension and others
  • to be active in health promotion and patient education
  • be able to assist GPs with minor surgery
  • have the necessary skills and training to run spirometry, diabetes, smoking cessation, and travel clinics

You must be a registered General Nurse with full NMC registration, have qualifications/Certificates in cervical screening, immunisation administration, relevant to chronic disease management, wound care, and other areas relevant to post.  You must have a recognised qualification to diploma level or above and to be able to demonstrate commitment to professional development

You should have experience of working in accordance with the UKCC Code of Professional Conduct and The Scope of Professional Practice, EMIS clinical system, Microsoft Office software and dealing with the public/patients.
